When I first began quilting again, I purchased a kit from my local shop, and due to the precedence of other projects, it's been sitting on the shelf.

| Here's a preview |
While the kit isn't available any longer (that I know of..) You can still get the pattern from
Moda. I'm sure it would look just as great with another fabric collection!
I've had the strips cut and sewn together for a couple months, but this week I started piecing it in earnest. Here's tonight's progress:
 |
| 12 strips sewn, 27 to go! |
I'm not quite 1/3 of the way through piecing the strips tonight.... One more would get me there, but I'm going to be good and pack it in for the night. So tempting to quilt all night!
I'm still debating which method of appliqué I'll use for the owl detail... I've done well at prepared edge appliqué, but I'm dying to try needle turn after watching some lessons on
Craftsy. And, I've been considering night and day how I'll quilt it. Maybe a leafy pattern? Or some swirls and flowers? Any ideas?
Maybe it'll come to me in a dream!
Until next time - Happy Quilting!
