I ordered an unusual (for me) quilt kit off eBay awhile back. Ok. Two of them... This one, I liked when it arrived, I think. Not much for a preview, but the kit came with a not so great preview picture printed on a home printer, so this is all you get for now... Just a hint of what it might look like finished :) hehehe.
Everything was precut, which makes me feel like I'm cheating, but here they are. I'm happily chain piecing away!!!
The pieces came hastily cut, and of varying weights and quality, but I think, with a little extra care & squaring up, this one will turn out great! I just love this green :)
Pretty blocks!
This quilt will probably end up at work for those cold cold days when the hvac man is in high demand and the boiler is down. The fabric is pretty rough and tough and I think it'll hold up well in my construction-y office.
Can't wait to get the quilt top done!
Also on the docket this week:
Backing and FMQ for Raphael.
I'm having some trouble deciding on how to quilt this one... Hoping inspiration hits when I get him into the machine :)

Backing and FMQ for It's a Hoot!
I have not given an update on the ol' owl since the piecing was half done! Negligent of me, isn't it?
Overambitious as it may be, hoot got the needle turn treatment - first go at something more difficult than a circle. It was an all out effort...
In the original pattern, the strips were supposed to slant the other direction. When I realized I didn't get that piece of business quite right, I decided that it was fine as is, and hoot got himself a forward slash home instead of a back slash home. He prefers it this way, I suspect. He turned out nicely, don't you think? His house measures about 50x60, which is plenty of room for one lonely, very wise and well decorated owl. This quilting could be really really fun. No decisions have been made about his quilting either. I'm going to just start in and see how we go.
Gonna be a busy busy week!
Happy quilting!
Dawn.
